Breaking Barriers: The First Women’s Conference in Ulcinj, Montenegro.

February 13, 2026

It was an incredible honor to host the first-ever women’s conference in my hometown of Ulcinj, Montenegro. The event was made possible through a collaboration between the Municipality of Ulcinj, Women ALB-World, and Emina's Hand Foundation. Together, we gathered to discuss vital topics related to women's rights, gender equality, and ways to support women in leadership, education, and business. We also focused on strategies to combat violence against women, an issue that affects so many around the world.

Our focus throughout the conference was on empowering Albanian-speaking women and girls, both in the diaspora and their countries of origin. It was an inspiring event, where conversations covered everything from women's independence to their roles in business and the arts. The discussions were passionate and impactful, and I felt privileged to be a part of this transformative gathering.

I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to some of the incredible individuals and organizations that made this event possible. A special thank you to Mirela Mezani (@mirelamezani), Women ALB-World (@women_alb_world_), the Municipality of Ulcinj (@opstinaulcini_komunaeulqinit), and the Mayor of Ulcinj, Gen. Nimanbegu (@genc_nimanbegu) for their leadership and support in organizing this event. I am also deeply grateful to the Emina's Hand Foundation (@eminashandfoundation) for their dedication to creating change for women everywhere.
